This week’s Father’s Day Substack is brought to you by two former prosecutors, proud sons of law enforcement, and past and present members of Congress:
Grateful for men like Jack Murphy, who served our country and continues to serve his community. Happy Father’s Day to Pop Murphy and to all the dads out there setting the example for generations to come.
That's cool. Democratic majority leaders and state senators are being assassinated while American soldiers goose step in the streets to amuse Herr Fuhrer. Thoughts on that?
Honor our elders & keep our eyes on the prize of a vibrant democracy.
We Band of Brothers & Sisters #United in peaceful resistance to authoritarianism. The wanna be King's $45 Million birthday parade had 6,000+ under orders to attend & almost tens of people showed up. Meanwhile, Trump & his MAGA thugs push budget busting transfers of wealth to the wealthiest, cuts in health care & other critical services for vets & the most vulnerable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM38NaLLH5A
The Trump tariffs & One Big Beautiful Bill impose the biggest redistribution of income from the poor to the rich in U.S. history. The bottom ten percent of households would see an average reduction of more than 6.5 percent in incomes while those at the top would see an increase of nearly 1.5 percent (several $100,000s/yr for the top!%). This is so beautiful and heartwarming 🤍. My dad was a Vietnam Veteran and school teacher/administrator. He had a slogan on his wall that said “What is popular isn’t always right. What is right isn’t always popular.” He was a little rough around the edges but he instilled in us a strong sense of right and wrong, for which I am very grateful! Beautiful post, thank you! 😊
Beautiful reflections and memories. Thanks for sharing and Happy Father's Day to All !!!
You'll have to share it here, I got rid of my cell phone a long time ago so I can't text anyone.
Thanks Carly Bentley for sharing this beautiful song: https://music.apple.com/us/album/are-you-man-enough-to-kiss-your-dad-goodbye/1574489805?i=1574490118
