Just a beautiful story! It brought tears to my eyes. Hug and kiss her for me. My mom has passed, but she was a lot like your mom, just a different religion. Bless you and your family. Happy Mother's Day to your wife and your mother! I'll hold this story close to my heart!
What a beautiful tribute to your mother on this Mother’s Day. She’s clearly an incredible woman, which is evident throughout the Murphy clan. Happy Mother’s Day to Mrs. Margie Murphy.
Thank you for such a moving tribute to your remarkable mother. My throat aches a little after reading such a poignant history. How very fortunate you were and how fortunate everyone was who came into contact with her. I, too, had an extraordinary mother whom I miss every day. Memories fill me with gratitude. Also,at the same time, I feel great sadness for children who were not as fortunate as we were in wining the Mom lotto.
Omg…I just read what you wrote about your mom. Love it…I literally burst out laughing at the part “If I were a butterfly”…I taught my CCD kids this 😂😂 no one else knew it. They thought I was crazy. Best Catholic school song ever😂 I had to download it & it is still there!
We did have the best childhood in the best neighborhood! Loved how all of us were families. We all looked out for each other. I love that after all these years, we are all still friends! Blessed
Beautiful story, Jack! We had the same thing going out on the West Coast. My Nana was the housekeeper at a rectory, my aunt was the mother superior for the Loretto order, and my mom was a eucharistic minister into her late 80s'. Five kids in the family and things were always tight, but we never knew we were "poor," because we were rich in love. My mom passed in 2002, and I can't tell you how much I miss her (especially on Mother's Day). Thanks for the memories!
What a great story. My seventh grade teacher was a nun who eventually left the convent, but, like your mom never left the church. I'm glad your mom didn't become a nun cause then there wouldn't be you.
Thanks Patrick! I just spent a wonderful weekend with Mom - lots of laughs and memories from IHM days. She is totally unique and dedicated to God, family and the world!
This is ❤️
So in!

Excuse me... Brain fart. I suppose confusing you with your father is not an insult, though!
Beautiful tribute Patrick to our amazing Margie!!! Our family is so Blessed to have her as our beacon of strength and love.
What a beautiful tribute and what a wonderful example of leading with actions rather than rhetoric. Thank you for sharing your family legacy.
